24" × 36" | Original Abstract Expressionist Painting
An explosion of color, movement and spontaneous expression. Retro Rugrats brings together electric oranges, vibrant pinks, blues and whimsical shapes filled with personality.
Created through intuitive exploration this piece allowed the negative space to be held rather than filled with color. Its nostalgic, cartoon like energy emerged naturally, inspiring a name that resonated with others after the painting was complete. (Feels like the 80’s or nickelodeon vibes).
Alex’s art is always a celebration of creative freedom, curiosity and the beauty that comes from creating without a predetermined outcome!
